The Tweed River – painting in acrylics
The Tweed River is a painting for a special place in your home. It is a sweeping landscape 100 x 100cm painted in Acrylic on stretched linen. I spent two wonderful weeks at the Tweed Regional Gallery as an Artist in Residence. This meant that I was able to examine the Tweed River and its surrounding environment in detail. My project there was to examine the changes in the valley from the time of the famous painting by Elioth Gruner, ‘View of the Valley of the Tweed’ until the present. I hope to be able to present my findings over the next few months. This view of the Tweed River is an iconic view from the high vantage point on which the gallery sits.It was the last painting I completed while in residence and I certainly enjoyed trying to capture the grandeur of the river in all its iconic glory!
