Painting – ‘Dry River Bed’
Dry Creek Bed is a work inspired by a week spent in the University of NSW Arid Research Station at Fowlers Gap in outback NSW. This is about 100 kms from Broken Hill. In my time there, the area was deep in drought – there was very little water in any of the creeks or waterholes but the colours of the eath and the shadows were fascinating, as where the start trees and the evidence of past floods. This work is painted in acrylics on stretched linen with a deep edge and is 100cm x 100cm in size.
