Heroic Survivor Painting in Oil

Heroic Survivor painting, was a finalist in the Calleen Art Award 2019. This art work is now for sale. It is a painting in oil on an acrylic base, completed in 2019 and 76 x 76 cm on stretched canvas. It depicts the Gymea Lily in a parched environment. This was my mother's favourite Australian flower and, like her it is an epic survivor - it thrives in the centre of busy highways with little or no care. It originates in the harsh and sandy soils to the south of Sydney. The flower sits on the top of a tall stalk and even when it finally fade, has a graphic beauty. I salute this heroic survivor in a tough land.
