Christine’s November Art Newsletter
November Art started with a great workshop with one of my favourite artists, Jo Bertini and you can read about that at this link. Then at Lennox Arts Collective there was a very special art Exhibition, by three regular attendees at my art classes, Robyn Day, Trish Tait and Michaela Murphy. It was called ‘Kaleidoscope of Colour’ – with, you guessed it……lots of brilliant colour! Robyn’s delicate and intricately detailed patterns, Trish’s sublime watercolours and Michaela’s colour palette worked together perfectly and the resulting opening night had purchasers on their toes as they scrambled to buy their favourite pieces!
Another stunning opening night exhibition was held at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery on the 16th and featured the wonderful landscapes of our very own Northern Rivers by Sharon McIlwain – fascinating to see the red dots go up one after the other! I was also much taken by the work of Anna Nordstrom which uses ancient linoleum and pressed metal to create fascinating images.
The inaugural Art Piece Gallery Art Prize opens at the Art Piece Gallery in Mullumbimby on November 25 2017 – I am thrilled to be one of the finalists, as is Trish Tait who is currently exhibiting with us (see above).
The Sunrise Art Exhibition is also happening again on the weekend of 2/3 December at 20 Blue Seas Parade, Lennox Head
Art Classes and Workshops
We held the penultimate Saturday workshop for my class on 11th November – Botanical Drawing and Painting II. Lots of fun and brought together my November Art program. The next Saturday workshop happens on 2nd December and that day features still life art. The class is pretty full, but do let me know if you are keen and I will try to fit you in!
I have posted the first half of the 2018 timetable as people are keen to book ahead. Please note that unfortunately I have had to increase prices for 2018. Wednesdays $35 for three hours or $15 per hour, Saturdays $70 unless otherwise listed.
Wednesday classes finish for 2017 on 13th December and begin again on 17th January 2018. The first Saturday workshop for 2018 is on 20th January – ‘The Fundamentals of Colour’.
