In my last newsletter I promised more information about the proposed artist retreat near Nimbin, NSW. The original dates were in September, but it is now formally scheduled for 26th to 28th August at Two Figs Retreat, Upper Tuntable Falls Rd, Nimbin NSW.

What is planned?

The program will include art tuition with me each day in a group – painting with acrylics, drawing in pencil, pen, charcoal etc. There will be ample free time to ‘do your own thing’. If you prefer, you can work alone and just join the group as you please.  Interested participants are invited to visit the Blue Knob Gallery with me to view the artworks on display and to have lunch on the Saturday.

Two Figs Retreat is set in 20 acres of lush rainforest. There are three accommodation buildings on the site – the main house is Art Deco in style and overlooks the Tuntable Valley and the Nightcap Ranges. This is a self sustaining and organic property – all power and water are generated or collected onsite, toilets are composting. Waste is fully recycled and produce is organic.

There are two magnificent dams, one with a jetty and a fire pit nearby for an atmospheric evening under the stars – telling stories, drinking wine and eating delicious food! A separate two storey cottage with three bedrooms and a separate studio with one bedroom are both surrounded by lovely gardens and each has a courtyard, kitchen and bathroom (toilet is separate from bathroom in the cottage). There are two bedrooms with ensuite in the main house (one queen bed and one king bed or two single beds).

Need to eat?

Catering is available – light breakfast materials provided, lunch (can be picnic style if you want to work outside) and shared evening meal. You are able to self cater if you prefer and Nimbin is not far away by car – 6km

What to bring?

Your art materials, a hat, a light fold up seat and portable easel if you plan to move far afield. There is plenty of space and views on verandahs and courtyards, as well as tables and chairs.

How much will it cost?
