A New World at Lennox Arts Collective!!
A new world indeed! Who could have believed at the New Year, where we would be today? This new world is surely going to change so much of what we have taken for granted all our lives.
It will not beat us if we do the sensible thing and follow our medical and public health experts. That said, the Lennox Arts Collective, which includes myself and seven others creatives has decided to make a whole lot of changes to try to ride out this Covid-19 pandemic. We even hope that by the end of the crisis this might be a true New World, with better ways of managing our planet and managing our own relationships and our own lives.
I am now semi – self isolating, meaning that I am largely staying home, going to the beach for a walk early when there are few people around – and it is a HUGE beach, doing my shopping quickly and efficiently, popping in to our gallery (see above three of us socially distancing inside the gallery!) at Lennox Arts Collective, 2/71 Ballina St, Lennox Head NSW, to monitor things and help arrange window displays. We have closed the doors as we are not an essential service – even though creative cultures are the lifeblood of any society.
The good news is, that at Lennox Arts Collective we will still create and sell you art, photography, tee shirts, tea towels, ceramics, prints, cards, wooden spoons, solargraphs and jewellery – contact us individually by email on the internet or by social media. Have a look at some of our items for sale below…
Here are contact details for all our artists and I’ll put up photos of items on special as well. You can pay us by direct debit – and we’ll deliver and keep the appropriate social distance.

Online Art Lessons with Christine
On a more personal practice level, I am busy creating an online presence for teaching art. I plan to include You Tube videos which you can access here for lessons, tips and a general insight into my painting life.
I also will conduct interactive lessons on either Face Time where you can request a ‘one on one’ or join a scheduled class on Zoom which is a free app and which allows for groups to interact with a host (me), The Zoom interactive class will happen on Wednesday mornings at 10am for 40 minutes. This should start on Wednesday April 1st. You will be able to book a series of four lessons for $40.00 which will enable you to create and complete an artwork with me. Alternatively, we can use the time to discuss and mentor your practice. Send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested.
In addition, I will have themed workshops as I have previously held in the ‘Old World’ but now, in the “New World’ on Zoom – the first will be on Landscape on the 11th April, in place of the workshop that I am now unable to hold.
I have tried to utilise as many of the online services that I can for online sales and have created a range of products on VIDA Studios, which you can purchase. The link is here;
I’ll put my own specials on my website too, Facebook and Instagram (Christine Read Art) including paintings, tea towels, art prints, unframed original paintings, sketches and cards.
We hope that you will still buy from us, we do need to pay the gallery rent and jobs and superannuation savings are very uncertain at this time, so we are all doing what we can to hold our wonderful little art community going. Thank you!!
