Its been a busy time……………..a trip to Los Angeles to visit family and a wonderful visit to the Getty Center. I would have to say that this building of limestone sitting on top of the city rates as a modern masonry masterpiece – I just loved the juxtaposition of smooth and rough surfaces and the vast expanses of the brilliant whiteness against the arid hillsides, vineyards and bouganvillea.
Then the thrill of my work (at left) ‘Lake Ainsworth Mirror’ being hung in the Border Prize at the Tweed Regional Gallery.

Mid June saw me become a member of the Lennox Arts Collective (see the facebook page and please ‘like’ us) where I am now running regular workshops on a Wednesday morning and on the 12th July facilitated a Saturday class – ‘Creating Still Life in Acrylics’. Some of the participants are in the following images with their works. We had a lot of fun and its great to see people working together and inspiring each other!

Just love the free flowing quality of the iris painted by Frankie – she was aiming to ‘free up’ her style.

Fiona loves colour – as you can see from this vibrant study – almost Moroccan in its mood.

I have been working on new works for an exhibition I am having in Sydney in Rozelle in October and another in the US next year – the images at left and below are some of the works in progress.

The studio and a whole pile of paintings and screen printing ideas starting to happen……………

Working on a diptych of the Hollywood Hills – has been fabulous  fun to paint – usually in the evenings is my meditative and painting time – and a fond reminder of the walks Daffy, the Staffordshire Terrier and I took most mornings

Back to the water of Sydney harbour – a painting in progress that belongs in my ‘Fragment of Memory’ series.

Outline of the view from the deck in Rinconia Drive – contemplating the falling dusk with an evening drink.

Yes, very busy, but very productive and enjoyable (with the odd frustration of course) – problems with the screen printing – but that will be solved with a bit of effort!
