October art promises to be wonderful. I am having a fabulous life in my new career – so excited the other day to hear that I was referred to as ‘is she the painter?’ rather than ‘is she the doctor?’! Who would have thought?
Great stuff has happened in the past month – I have been in Art Edit Magazine Spring Edition and two of my ‘Tread lightly on the planet’ works are in the exhibition at Caldera Art – the opening night is 21st October and you can see the details and online gallery here
I was very fortunate to be invited by Breathing Colours Gallery in Balmain to provide an artwork for a ‘birthday catalogue’ for a collector and my work sold quite quickly, which was nice.
The gallery in Lennox Head has been getting busier during the school holidays and some good sales for all of the Lennox Arts Collective and I have taken a good commission which I am in the throes of painting right now!
The workshops have been ongoing and my Saturday workshops are very popular. The September one was ‘Fruit and Flowers’ which had me buying fruit and eating as I painted. The October art workshop is on ‘The Colour Turquoise’ on the 8th October – see the details on this timetable. There are a couple of spaces left. The exhibition of artworks by class attendees is the 21st October 5.30 – 8pm at the Lennox Arts Collective.
Art Retreats are now high on my agenda – we had a fabulous retreat at Nimbin at the end of August which you can read about on this post.
A new retreat is on in France in May 2017. I have organised to take some of my artist friends and students to Paris and to Provence. It is almost full, but I can take a few more people, so let me know if you are keen and I can give you more details. You can see the proposed program and cost at this link.
If you are unable to get to France, I have two more retreats on the calendar for 2017 – at Two Figs Retreat near Nimbin (where the previous retreat was held) at the end of March (31 March – 3 April) and one in August (18 – 21st August).
Have a great October art month everyone!
