Easter Saturday I ran a workshop called ‘Exploring Landscape’ in which we examined some of the great Australian artists’ contribution to this genre and then analysed what made a landscape ‘work’. Then we painted a landscape of course! I have to say it is one of my favourite subjects and you can see my gallery at this link if you like.

Please enjoy the work produced in the class below;

At the end of April we have the wonderfully vibrant work by artist Jan Gannon –  her technique melds resin, dyes, colours, heat and movement layer upon layer and stimulates the observer’s imagination on an inward journey – her opening of ‘Shine’ is 28th April and the exhibition runs from 28th April to 11th May, so do come along!

Lastly, Art Retreats.……the Nimbin retreat planned for the end of March was drowned by the Lismore floods, so we could not get there but I did invite the attendees to come to my home studio in Lennox Head instead and we had a marvellous time and stayed dry! You can read about that event at this link.

The Nimbin Retreat scheduled for the 18th – 21st August will hopefully be lovely and fine just like it was last August. I am now open for bookings for this retreat:

There is a variety of accomodation at beautiful Two Figs Retreat – two bedrooms with bathrooms in the main house, a cottage with three bedrooms and shared bathroom and a self contained studio for two. The prices vary according to the accomodation choice. Catering is included except for a visit to a local cafe in Nimbin on Saturday and so are all art workshops with Christine. See the previous retreat at Two Figs at this link.

Prices: Bedroom with bathroom $675.00,  Bedroom in cottage $645.00,  Studio $795

It is also possible to attend for a day depending on numbers. If you are interested please contact me on christinereadart@hotmail.com. A deposit of $100.00 is necessary to secure your place and booking is on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

French Art Retreat 2017 – ‘A Taste of Impressionism’ I will be in France with some excited ladies starting in Paris and then to Avignon in Provence for 10 days. I will be sharing our adventures on my blog, so if you want to be kept up to date with our activities please join up to my website and you will get all the posts.
